Abstract
The ENLACE software was developed to analyse and characterise rain rate distributions and to calculate rain attenuation distributions in line-of-sight and satellite links using several different prediction methods. The program can be used to fit analytical functions, such as log-normal, gamma, log-power and Moupfouma´s distributions, to measured rain rate distributions. The measured distribution and its analytical approximations, can be compared with those of the CCIR rain climates. Rain attenuation prediction can be performed using either measured rain rate data, fitted analytical distributions or CCIR climate distributions. Ten methods for rain attenuation prediction proposed, are implemented, including the current CCIR method. Routines for calculation of prediction errors are also available. The software, runs on IBM-PC compatible computers
