  • Abstract
Certain methods of identification of underground targets are based on the knowledge of scattered near field. The evaluation of the near field is always numerically cumbersome, but near field carries more information about a scatterer. A method is proposed to overcome the significant difficulties arising from the numerical evaluation of Fourier type integrals. For simplicity of analysis the authors consider cylindrical scatterers of infinite length. The simplest physical model for the description of the environment (soil and air) is the one layer model for the structure of the ground. Numerical results are obtained and presented for the VHF band
