Abstract
The viability of a λ/4 microstrip patch as the antenna of the DECT handset is analyzed. The simple transmission line and cavity models are used to analyze the antenna and to design the prototypes. The input impedance, bandwidth and radiation patterns are obtained theoretically and experimentally for several prototypes, and they satisfy the requirements of the DECT system
