Abstract :
To evaluate the upgradeability of its existing long-haul transport to the use of 100G, Verizon conducted several field trials leading to commercial deployment in 2009. Verizon is currently considering the design and deployment of a new network optimized for the transport of 100G with a potential upgrade path to 400G or even 1Tb.
