Development of common remote-control meter reading system

Along with the development of advanced urban functions in the information-oriented society, the society´s high dependency on electric power has increased. Under the circumstances, Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. has been positively tackling the technical development for materializing a totally automated power distribution system, which aims at high standardization and higher reliability of electric power facilities. As part of the technical development, they have developed a system that enables not only electric power but gas and other enterprises cooperatively to perform remote control meter reading and provide information and load control for customers.
