Abstract :
The performance characteristics are presented of linear interferometric circuits fabricated using 2×2 couplers, waveguides, gratings and partially transmitting mirrors. Only resonant and lattice network topologies are considered. The numerical treatment of these networks is based on a generalized scattering analysis. Frequency characteristics, time delay characteristics, sensitivity to coupler and waveguide loss, and the influence of coupling strength have been simulated
