  • Abstract
The industrial boiler is a commonly used device in a lot of practical production process and its complex features usually lead to problems to gain satisfied control performance. The conventional PID controller has acquired wide applications in many fields, variation of the system parameters and external disturbances existing in the boiler system will cause large overshoot or poor stability. In this paper, a compound control system combining the conventional PID control and the fuzzy control is proposed to meet the practical requirements of control system. The design method of the fuzzy PID controller that is based on the fuzzy tuning rules is introduced in detail. Simulations have been carried out and the corresponding results are presented to show the efficiency of the proposed controller. Simulation results and the practical control effect shows that the control system that adopts the fuzzy PID controller has better performance than that of the common PID control system, and meets the performance requirements of the control system.
