Abstract :
The spectra of effective dielectric constants which are proportional to dielectrophoretic force were investigated for a single protoplast of Ducaus carota in the range of 100 kHz to 50 MHz. The dielectrophoretic force was obtained by measuring the velocity of protoplast using an electrode which provides for a constancy in the dielectrophoretic force. The spectra show two or three peaks. In addition, the spectra washed in sucrose solution are found to be different from those washed and suspended in mannitol solution. the spectrum of the effective dielectric constants is obtained by measuring the impedance of a suspension in the range of 100 kHz to 10 MHz. The spectrum obtained is compared with that of the velocity measurement method.<>
