  • Abstract
Networked control systems (NCSs) are spatially distributed systems in which the communication between sensors, actuators, and controllers is supported by a shared communication network. This paper reviews several recent results on time delay, packet dropout, time-varying sampling period and communication constraints for NCSs. The delay switching based method and the parameter uncertainty based method are presented to deal with time varying delay, and jump system approach is also presented to model the variation of time delay. H performance optimization for NCSs with passive time-varying, active varying sampling period and communication constraints are also reviewed. The results are presented in a tutorial fashion, comparing alternative methodologies.
