Abstract :
Feasibility of 100G-NRZ-DQPSK and POLMUX-DQPSK with direct-detection in Telefónica´s optical mesh network, as potential alternatives to more complex solutions with coherent detection and digital processing, are evaluated through numerical simulations taking into account main fiber-optic impairments and realistic dispersion maps.
