Abstract :
Previous investigations have shown that bearing resolution may be improved by increasing a towed array´s aperture with high resolution or acoustic synthetic aperture techniques. The performance and conditions for effective use of these processing concepts are investigated. Experimental results indicate that both techniques are robust approaches for providing high bearing resolution
