Abstract :
Whereas costly hybrid applications are flourishing worldwide mainly thanks to strong hybrid applications at the leading edge of technology, Valeo believes the mass market requires realistic, cost effective and reliable technical solutions applicable at wide scale to large diffusion vehicles so as to efficiently contribute to CO2 emission reduction. Therefore, developing products with an optimized business case independently of tax reduction or incentives is a must for Valeo. This paper presents the development work which has been carried out since the past years, from the first generation of belt driven starter alternator to the next generations with integrated electronics, from pure stop-start technology to stronger functionalities such as regenerative braking. Description, performances and applications of such products are detailed in the next sections.
