  • Abstract
    Based on the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) technique, which can distinguish weak signals from strong noise background, an information hiding method through two MP3 audio files are proposed in this paper. Firstly, the sender translates the information text into a stream of binary characters. Then the generated binary stream is merged into an audio file utilizing matrix multiplication. As a result, two audio files embedded with information are produced. At the receiver end, the two audio files are processed using ICA and inverse matrix operation to recover the binary stream, as well as the raw information hided by the sender. The optimal parameters of the embedding matrix are determined based on minimizing the Mean Squared Error (MSE) of the output audios and the reconstructed text file. To improve the security and the noise resistance performance, frequency spread technique is utilized to conquer the disturbance produced by the MP3 encoder. It is proved that such method can extract the information effectively and recover the hided information exactly.
