Abstract :
A (1D,3V) electrostatic collisionless kinetic layer model for a plasma in contact with a material surface is developed. Distribution functions (DF) of plasma components in the plasma-wall transition layer are obtained on the basis of an analysis appropriate to the boundary kinetic problem. Correct boundary conditions and equations for calculation of the Bohm potential are deduced which ensure a continuous interface of the quasi-neutral plasma with a transition layer
