Abstract :
Examines the transmission characteristics of mobile radio systems. A propagation model that can be used to predict delay spread for cities bordered by tall mountains is proposed. This model takes into account the main arrival wave from the base station and the reflected waves from the mountains. To quantify the multipath propagation characteristics, excess delay and received level measurements were carried out in Kofu, which is located 100 km west of the Tokyo metropolitan area. The measured values almost agree with the calculated ones when the reflection loss, is about 10 dB.<>
