Abstract :
Amplitude and phase variations of signals transmitted to and from a satellite are investigated by experimental and theoretical analyses. The investigation is based on a typical model of a land vehicle passing near a power pole. In land mobile satellite communications, signal amplitude variation by scattering caused by obstacles such as power poles is found to be significant.<>
