Abstract
Temporary demand for transformer overloading and related inaccuracy in this procedure motivate authors to describe problems and restrictive factors of overloading in related standards. In this paper, economic issues based on profit and loss calculation of overloading are considered in addition to the common thermal limits. This consideration leads to a novel criterion for economical transformer overloading. The results of this procedure application for a 160 MVA/230 kV transformer are presented and compared with thermal limitations.
