Abstract :
As one of the key fingerprint identification technology, the fingerprint preprocessing algorithm consists of the segmentation, enhancement, binarization and thinning of fingerprint image. Using Gabor filter designed by ridge orientation of fingerprint implements fingerprint enhancement. It also makes discussion in segmentation, binarization and thinning, and verifies the efficiency of algorithm by adopting VC. Experiment results show that this preprocessing algorithm can make the lines of fingerprint clear, continuous and lubricious, at the same time, effectively improves the quality of fingerprint images and promotes the reliability of fingerprint identification.
