Abstract :
This paper presents the distribution of radial force density of a brushless permanent magnet (PM) DC motor according to variation of magnetization distribution in the PM. The analysis of radial force density requires 3-D dynamic analysis to consider the 3-D shape of teeth and overhang, because the radial force density acts on the surface of teeth inconsistently, causes vibration and depends on the shape of magnetization distribution. Thus, this paper analyzes radial force density for various magnetization distributions of PM in BLDC motors. A 3-D equivalent magnetic circuit network method is used to account for the rotor movement without remeshing
