Abstract :
Nowadays, the designer uses an assembly of existing structures to design a complete static converter structure or electric drive. The resulting structures are generally very attached to a specific technology and are not very new. To avoid this, a functional description is proposed in order to take into account the technological aspect very later in the design process of the power part of electric drives. In such an approach, specifications are mainly defined by qualitative criteria. In the future, our final goal is to build an expert system for electric drive structure design
