  • Abstract
This paper describes a steady state method for power flow programs and is one solution to the problem of initializing the dynamic models of the induction motor for transient stability studies. In the method the steady state induction motor model is included in the initial Newton Raphson power flow study, so the values of slip and reactive power of the motor are automatically adjusted. This adjustment is not arbitrary, since it takes into account the actual motor behavior
