Abstract
This paper investigates the design of matched filters (MF) for direct-sequence code-division multi-access (DS-CDMA) systems. We extend the work of Monk et al. (see IEEE J. Select. Areas Commun., vol.SAG-12, no.5, p.817-827, 1994) by assuming the availability of more information such as the individual powers and time delays of strong interferers. This extension permits the design of MFs which can specifically reduce the effects of locked interferers. Results for the rectangular chip pulse illustrate the signal to noise ratio (SNR) improvement the proposed MF gives over the conventional MF and noise-whitening MF
