  • Abstract
This paper analyzes the relationship between freight and economic growth, and the main influential factor of the freight transport demand. On this foundation according to statistics data, we come to the conclusion that the freight present obvious linear relationship to the explanatory variables-the population, GDP, total retail sales of consumer goods and the fixed assets investment of transportation and telecommunication. Furthermore we set up regression model to conclude the freight has the positive relation with the GDP; while it has the negative relation with the total retail sales of consumer goods. In the end, this paper has empirical analysis on the relationship between freight and GDP on each economic development stage.
