Abstract
To optimizing the coverage performance of sensor network with random deployment, this paper proposed a strategy which is based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) with dynamic clone. The algorithm control clone number and variation range of particles, which represents the positions of all mobile sensor nodes, on the base of classical particle swarm algorithm, according to their coverage rate and similarity among the swarms, the particles decide the clone number and variation scope after each iteration completing, and avoid being trapped in early-maturing situation. The result of simulation shows that this optimized algorithm is able to greatly improve the coverage of the network than other compared algorithms.
