Abstract
A simulation program, DCANT (for DC analysis using noniterative techniques), for analyzing the DC operating point of an analog integrated circuit is described, and some of its features are discussed. The simulator uses no iterative techniques. Templates are used to recognize certain circuit configurations, and a hierarchical rule base exploits a limited number of node and current path types found in analog circuits, DCANT emulates the process an experienced designer would use when examining circuitry by hand
