Abstract :
The design of 2-10 GHz feedback MMIC amplifier is presented using a new interactive "visual" technique. The existing design procedures for microwave amplifiers with compensation/feedback networks are cumbersome and time-consuming. In this paper, we demonstrate the design of single-stage ultrawide-band feedback MMIC amplifier using a new interactive "visual" technique. The technique allows the exact synthesis of compensation/feedback networks directly from a simultaneous set of performance specifications, including the gain, gain flatness, noise figure, input/output matching, and stability. The procedure is implemented in our "visual" CAD tools, AMP-CF and LOCUS, providing the fast and convenient amplifier design. With these tools, we have designed and fabricated a 2-10 GHz feedback MMIC amplifier that can be served as an amplifier block for different applications. Amplifier has been implemented in 0.2 mum pHEMT GaAs technology (OMMIC, France), providing gain 11.7plusmn1.1 dB, noise figure 2.2 dB, input and output return losses -9.6 dB and -11 .7 dB, respectively
