Abstract
Energy saving is presently one of the main worldwide challenges. Energy savings can be obtained through energy efficiency increase in the management of energy devices, like heat pumps and co-generators, and with renewable sources. In this paper both actions are considered, in an integrated way, in order to pursue better savings. In particular, a building thermal system is analyzed. All the components, from generation up to consumption (e.g. radiant panels) are modeled and a control system is then developed and simulated. The first results show control effectiveness to achieve important energy savings and drive to search for advanced control techniques.
