  • Abstract
    The main features of the asynchronised synchronous machine (ASM) are considered. Expedient areas of their application in power systems are listed. Available operational experience of ASM use as generators in Russia is briefly described. Prospects of ASM use in power systems as generators, generator-motors and controllable devices for FACTS, as reactive power compensators in particular, are considered
