Abstract
The authors have presented a novel technique for characterizing the electromagnetic behavior of coherent fields in random media. This behavior is characterized by the fundamental physical constant of effective permittivity, where it is shown that reliable, consistent results can be found using existing, full-wave electromagnetic solution techniques. As a result, this work represents a solid step forward in our basic understanding of how electromagnetic fields propagate through random media.
