Retargeting the Open64 Compiler to PowerPC Processor

The Open64 compiler is an open source compiler with industrial robustness and more and more research institutes adopt it as their compiler infrastructure. Open64 has good performance but its retargetability needs some improvement. In this work, we retarget the Open64 compiler to Freescale MPC7448 embedded microprocessor to provide a new processor platform for research based on the Open64 compiler for PowerPC processor target. Especially we integrate Olive and IADL into the Open64 compiler to partially automate the code generation and machine information generation of the Open64 compiler without changing its current CG framework. The solution works well in the retargeting practice.
