Abstract :
3D visualization on radar information is one of the most important research fields in virtual battle space, and it´s useful in radar performance analysis. This paper presents a novel cylindrical volume rendering approach on visualizing the radar information in complicated environment. 3D radar volumetric data is calculated based on advanced propagation model (APM), which takes into account the effects of irregular terrain and atmosphere, and the data is rendered by assigning different color and opacity depending on user´s interactive input with color picker. This approach provides excellent decision supporting and plan-aiding for users.
