Abstract :
A numerical technique for the time-domain analysis of lossy dispersive uniform/nonuniform multiconductor lines with arbitrary terminations is presented. The technique is based on an extension of the method of characteristics and includes the dispersion due to skin-effect and higher-order modes in the analysis. The method can characterize high frequency interconnects in terms of frequency dependent equivalent line constants. It is shown that the inverse transforms of these line constants can be used to solve the time domain coupled line equation by using this method
