Abstract :
The direct-drive permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) system with full converter can achieve wind maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in a wide range of wind-speed. The characteristics of PMSG are investigated first, and then the vector control method and a MPPT strategy based on hill-climbing method for PMSG are presented. Simulation results show that the controllers can extract maximum wind power in good dynamic performance.
