Abstract :
To respond to the low cost necessity and simplicity for massive market converter applications (home appliance and automotive for example), industrials have developed new components, with the help of the monolithic integration. This approach leads to cost and volume reductions. In case of VIPerreg MOSFET from STMicroelectronics, the control part is supplied through one supplementary winding integrated with flyback converter inductor, resulting in extra cost and specific design of passive. We propose an original solution to allow permanent and wide range operation, without the needs of any supplementary 3rd coil to power supply the intelligent switch. This solution can be easily integrated in same substrate within the power switch (Rouger and Aubard, 2006), without special needs for isolation, and its exhibits fairly good results in flyback converter applications using VIPer intelligent switches. In addition, the powering technique is used to clamp turn off over voltage. The global operation of the converter takes advantage of the implementation of this new technique
