Abstract :
The system is digital, with time-division-duplex. An equivalent baseband data rate of either 80 or 40 kb/s is foreseen, depending on the speech CODEC standard chosen. Omnidirectional antennas must be used Solar power is likely to be used in most locations, as there will be little infrastructure in many of the regions where the system find implementation. A practical linear modulation transmitter implementation is shown. Propagation is considered with particular regard to multipath characteristics
