Abstract :
The paper describes the concept of a distributed radio telephone system appropriate to the specific needs of users in small villages in developing countries. Although a circuit switched system, it has many of the characteristics of a packet radio system. The factors which affect the performance limits of the network are discussed and the results of simulation of its connectivity are presented
