Abstract
The analytic evaluation of roundoff noise is an interesting approach to analyze the effects of fixed-point implementation of linear filters or controllers. This paper is based on a generic framework that describes controller algorithms. Fixed-point implementation (in different schemes) that is associated to these algorithms are exhibited, and the output roundoff noise power is then analytically build. Finally, the optimal realization problem, according to the roundoff noise power, is considered.
