Abstract
The features of an applicative language known as Data Flow Language (DFL) are described. The benefits of such a language are illustrated for both DSP algorithm specification and as input for high-level synthesis tools. The author discusses the requirements of an applicative language and then discusses applicative semantics. Procedural extensions and timing are also discussed
