Abstract
A purely analogue reflection-type time shifter is presented. Quick design equations are given that enable a traditional reflection-type phase shifter topology to emulate a true time shifter. Simulated results for an X-band design demonstrate that a high performance can be achieved over at least a 40% bandwidth, when a 3 dB Lange coupler is employed. This novel time shifter offers considerable advantages over conventional classes of time shifter, which makes it ideally suitable for high performance applications
