Abstract :
A state-space formula is properly established to investigate the dynamic behavior composite beams with partial interaction. The orthogonality of vibration modes of the composite beam is then proved using a new method completely different from those in literature. Using the mode superposition method, we also present the analytical solution for forced vibration when the composite beam is subjected to a moving constant force. Numerical examples are finally presented and discussed.
