  • Abstract
A prototype highly thinned K-band image plate array was designed, fabricated and tested. The antenna consists of a stripline feed, widely spaced microstrip patch radiating elements on a ground plane and a frequency selective reflecting plate. The image plate array is based on image theory. Radiating elements are placed on a reflecting surface, or ground plane, with a parallel partially reflecting screen in front of the elements. A frequency selective surface (FSS) is the partially reflecting surface for our prototype.
