Abstract :
This paper presents the design and results of a microstrip patch antenna receiving array operating in the Ku band. The most obvious application in the Ku band is reception of wide band television images. However, other applications include reception of narrow band data channels and voice channels (telephone and radio). Most of these applications are confined to the band 11.7 GHz to 12.7 GHz. An attempt to improve the gain of the array by introducing parasitic patches on top of the active array are also presented in this paper.
