It is a cliche that in the UK we are less successful than our competitors at translating our inventions into successful commercial products. Here, the author argues that we must not allow prophets of doom and sensationalist headlines to detract from our achievements; on many fronts, we are getting technology transfer right. He illustrates the mechanisms for technology transfer using examples of several success stories
