Abstract :
We propose and demonstrate a simple method for generation of photons with nonzero angular momentum. The method utilizes whispering gallery mode resonators that transform a plane electromagnetic wave into a wave with a nonzero angular momentum. Diffraction pattern among the generated beams is observed.
