  • Abstract
Conventional algorithm of three-level NPC converter is introduced first in this paper. For the disadvantage and shortage, an efficient SVPWM algorithm with low computational overhead based on voltage-second balance principle is proposed in this paper. This algorithm can not only effectively simplify the calculation and reduce calculation time greatly, but also the neutral point voltage control can be implemented readily. The simulation result shows that the control effect is the same as traditional SVPWM. Furthermore, this algorithm does not need to perform the sine and cosine calculations, and thus it is more convenient and effective than the conventional traditional SVPWM algorithm.
