  • Abstract
This paper presents a new traffic management solution suitable for "lightweight" QoS-based delivery services. The proposed mechanism not only can be deployed in an incremental fashion to the current best-effort Internet but it also interacts autonomously with existing intra-domain routing protocols to provide differentiated treatment to traffic belonging to distinct traffic classes within a common IT infrastructure, thus improving traffic performance while satisfying the requirements imposed by each of the traffic classes. The proposed solution has been successfully simulated, probing to be able to fulfil the QoS requirements without introducing significant complexity in either control or management planes.
