Abstract :
The band structure and spin polarized electron distribution of uniaxially strained zigzag graphene nanoribbons (ZGNRs) are investigated. Strain will change the band structure and modify the spin polarization of ZGNRs. In both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic ZGNRs, spin polarization will be enhanced by the compressive strain along the armchair direction and the tensile strain along the zigzag direction.
