Abstract :
The `IEE Guide to the Practice of System Engineering´ is an aid to the system engineer. The Guide identifies the: role of system engineering; aim and objectives of system engineering; activities needed to satisfy the aim and objectives; and the basis for coherent training of system engineers. The preamble to the guide provides an overview, describes some of the concepts and presents the role of system engineering. System engineering is distinguished from project engineering and system engineers from project engineers.
