    The author examines learning process improvement in deliberate contrast to teaching process improvement. He sees teaching as an event `done´ by one to another, whereas learning is a self managed process that may need some teaching input. The application of such ideas to the improvement of work processes is then discussed. Operator competence, global competition and process progress monitoring are also touched upon
