Abstract :
This paper presents a new design method of frequency modulated interrupted continuous wave (FMICW) radar with both high range resolution and long coherent integration time. The designed signal waveform consists of two independent parts: (1) a wide bandwidth signal for the higher range resolution; and (2) a narrow band signal for the longer coherent integration time. Therefore, the contradiction of the determination of the two parameters mentioned above is overcome. We demonstrate, by means of simulations, that the complex modulated signal processing performs moving target detection and identification at high speed
